Pros
PAY:
The pay per hour is much better than bar or restaurant work and all I needed was my laptop and some wifi connection. A-level paid the best and I took as many A-level students as my timetable would allow for. Payments were sent out about twice a week, which was amazing, because most places pay per week or month.
FLEXIBLE HOURS:
The guys at Tutortutor were great! They regularly sent me possible jobs, some of which I accepted and others I turned down and they were fine with that.
EASIER THAN FACE TO FACE:
Not having to travel and being able to work from dig saved a lot of time and made tutoring online really easy and quite a bit of fun for me. The students were great and surprisingly for online concentrated really well and were a pleasure to work with.
TRAINING:
Before I took my first lesson, I was given a 45min orientation of the online classroom, which really helped to get me prepared for my first paid lesson.
Kontras
Being one of the smaller agencies, sometimes I did have to wait for new students, but most the students I took on stayed with me for the entire term.
The rate for the first 4 lessons tutored is less than the full rate, but once I had completed this probationary period, I did then receive the full rate.
