Pros
I very much enjoyed my time at True Productions. I was a video professional of about 10 years when I joined their team. I immediately enjoyed the variety of jobs and types of videos I was exposed to... many from notable clients. I had worked in-house at my last employer making specific videos, so this was a welcome change of pace. With that variety came an unexpected amount of creative freedom. At my last job, I was accustomed to carrying out marching orders from my managers. Management at True worked hard to ensure everyone on the team was comfortable moving a project forward and offered creative suggestions, but never imposed creative direction. Management had an open-door policy to discuss victories, questions or issues at any time. I discovered that my time there was really what I decided to make it. At my old position, extra effort amounted to not even a 'thank you.' At True, extra effort was always noticed and usually rewarded. The overall professional environment was collaborative, encouraging and inspiring. I enjoyed being a part of something growing and feeling that I played a part in that growth. The overall personal environment was icing on the cake. Work never felt like leaning on a team of people to get through each job... it felt like I was having fun and facing challenges with friends. Had I not been offered the dream-job that I had applied to one year before I joined the True team, I would still be there today. (Side note: the True team was very supportive and happy for me)
Kontras
It was a bummer to commute down to Pilsen everyday, as that was far from my place. But the awesome new office in West Town was a welcomed move.
