He used to work at Just Eat and decided to basically cut cost by getting rid of so many people. iOS team used to be 8 people working across 3 different apps. That got reduced to 2. From what I heard, they switched to React Native soon after I left to reduce the work force even more to the point the devs who created the new RN app, got sacked. I heard many negative things since I’ve left. The founder is also quite brutal. Comes across as an empathetic person but he will lay people off every 6 months. I believe it’s a company who did so well to have a good collective of people who tried hard for the business due to the nature of the business, but soon became all about numbers.
