You can advance if you are willing to learn, swallow your pride, and prove yourself with actions, not words or constant need for attention You are paid well when you have earned it, bottom line. You are not withheld to just your department. You can learn everything, and your boss will gladly pay for any needed training (ie AZ, mechanic, language, etc) The bosses do give the opportunity for young leaders to soar, as much as people think otherwise. Once an ego comes into play, the chance is gone though.

Do not expect empathy The story of Louie is phenomenal when you appreciate the struggle, however the new generations expect all with no work, and destroy his legacy If you set the bar low, it's difficult to prove yourself once you realize there's an opportunity to grow No standard raise or bonus structure. Those who get them, know why they got them...and it's not because of hard work
