Tackling various delivery requests and logistical situations are a fun brain teaser. Compensation is average for the industry, but opportunities to work extra are almost always available. Quite a good sum of money can be produced for the very eager in this industry without having a diploma or specialized education. Common sense and a great attitude can carry you through in most situations.

Many days require very long hours, 12-16 hours of non-stop making deliveries. Problems and setbacks are frequent and problem solving can be tiring at times. Dispatchers are under heavy pressure from clients and so can be short with drivers as they are fielding hundreds of calls throughout the day.
