Pros
Loved the families and employees were very hard working.
Kontras
When I first started it was ok. Pay was ok comparable to other jobs in the area. There was a sense camaraderie amongst staff. As the years went on though everything changed. The pay stagnated and the demands put on teachers were outrageous. The health insurance was unaffordable for most. Vacation time was laughable because sick time required a note from the doctor, which was against HIPPA. Employees are charged to bring their children. Even with a discount, if the pay is low it isn’t really affordable. Corporate has no background in early childhood education. So decisions are made on cost effectiveness and not on what’s proper child development. Was not supportive of students with diverse needs. (Was actually told they needed to be kicked out, as soon as they were diagnosed.) Staff is not supported, often understaffed. Managers are way overworked and expected to cut staff hours and fill in for them to save money. They used cameras as a weapon against staff. Corporate would look for reasons to fire you if you were not liked. Not worth the high school drama of it all. Find a childcare that focuses on early childhood development.
