Pros
The people I worked with are great
Kontras
The compensation is horrible, Timken is more interested in the dollar than the employees. They claim to have a work life balance but if you are having life issues they really do not care, as long as you are at work. They have been eliminating engineering jobs in the US and sending the engineering to India. They have been closing production plants in the US and are strategically moving production to Mexico. During the covid pandemic they put all of the employees on half salary for a month but still required them to work 40 hours, then 2 months later paid out a large dividend to investors. The buildings are very dated and falling apart. The production equipment in the US is very old, worn out. They have invested in all new equipment for their Mexico plant but have put barely anything into their US plant. The management is very poor and keep expecting production numbers even if their old worn out equipment is not functioning. The company was a much better place to work before Timken acquired them.
