Pros

This is a culture I can get behind! We have some really smart people here, opportunities to have a big impact in a new industry, fun company outings, lunch everyday, better benefits for those with families, the list goes on. Employees get involved here, they care about what they are working on, and each other. Some are even teaching development classes to people in the community.

Kontras

This is a startup culture navigating a corporate world. With the recent acquisition, there have been some stumbles trying to get our footing at Ticketmaster. But I've been impressed with our ability to call attention to issues and correct the course. It will be interesting to see how Ticketmaster Mobile Studio grows within the larger Ticketmaster organization.

Pros

The team here is smart and supportive. I like being around people that challenge me and the opportunities are limitless. We've been given lots of freedom to use whatever technology we need to solve interesting problems. Can't beat that for an intellectual challenge. Also great benefits, vacation, and awesome working environment at ATC.

Kontras

It is a big company. Sometimes working with the larger Ticketmaster group means things move slower than you'd like.

Pros

I met some great friends here, and I honestly enjoyed going to work every day. I was proud of what we were able to accomplish and I had a lot of fun all along the way.

Kontras

I brought some new ideas to the table surrounding expanding our capabilities at the time and I expressed an interest in changing roles in order to manage those new capabilities. My ideas never felt honored or respected and ultimately I was forced to either continue in my old role or leave the company completely. I felt tremendously under-appreciated and to make things worse, my ideas have since been implemented into their process without me. My case was the first in a pattern of disloyalty from management. Management refused to invest in the success and growth of trusted "friends" who had helped the company grow for several years. Instead, they will identify a new capability they want, fire the person currently in the related role, then hire a new person in the same role with one or two added capabilities. Do not expect opportunities for growth outside of your job description. Do not expect management to be loyal to you, no matter how much they seem like a "friend."
