Pros

WFH or hybrid work - some nice team members. Benefits a perks are similar to the standard across tech companies.

Kontras

Not a great place to work. Disappointed in the culture and senior management, pay and progression appear to be based on a popularity contest and being a yes man/woman. Senior leadership lack experience, the business is constantly changing directions and there is a tendency to over-promise and under-deliver to employees. No internal HR, it’s simply an app managed by senior management, making raising concern and maintaining confidentiality impossible when wrongdoing takes place. There is no board of directors holding any senior management accountable. The way female leadership is portrayed is truly sad, simply done for social image. There is a yearly ski trip which you have to pay for half of… hard to attend if you have children, a health condition, or simply can’t afford it (don’t know many that can based on salaries, except for senior management). Especially if you don’t drink alcohol… all done for what they think are creative LinkedIn posts. Quite cringe. Not a lot of interest in DEI or to actually practice what they preach online. 5 star reviews here are either fake or heavily influenced by marketing. Lots of excuses not to offer fair pay and progression, they love to use “above and beyond” as a metric. The tech is scattered and extremely hard to work with internally. Ai is heavily integrated without knowledge or concern by the CTO. Don’t waste your time applying to work at Thrive.

Thank you for your feedback. You mentioned that the People Team is simply an app. We have a People Team of five employees who are very much real people, not a system. They support every stage of the employee journey, from the moment someone applies for a role at Thrive through to when their time with us comes to an end. The team is visible, approachable, and covers talent and recruitment, HR, onboarding, legal, learning and development, finance, and wellbeing. We do use a Slack channel for some day-to-day queries, but this is managed and responded to by the People Team directly — not by senior management. We find it hard to reconcile this feedback with the experience of someone who worked with us for three to four years. Regarding the ski trip, last year 70 members of staff attended, many of whom are parents. We also had placement students and colleagues from our overseas offices join us. We plan the trip carefully to maximise accessibility and inclusion, and the broad range of roles and backgrounds represented by those who attended reflects that. On pay and progression, we are committed to structured and transparent career development based on clear performance criteria. We're proud of how many of our staff were awarded pay rises this year based on their performance. On diversity, equity and inclusion, this is not something we treat as a communications exercise. We have active initiatives in place and hold ourselves to measurable outcomes, not just public statements. We note this review has been posted anonymously, which makes it difficult to investigate your specific concerns or respond to them fully. We note that they also weren't raised during your employment but you are welcome to contact the People Team directly so that your experience can be properly and confidentially addressed. people@thrivelearning.com That offer is open to you. We wish you well in your next role.

Pros

Excellent pay, everyone in the company is passionate about what they do and gets $h!t done, the technology is fantastic and always ahead of the curve, customers are happy because everyone does their absolute best to resolve any issues and provide excellent customer service. Thrive is a FUN place to work, fast paced environment and very agile, it's a VIBE. Management are down to earth and approachable. 4 day working week trial coming up, Fridays are Thrive days: 10-3 and no internal meetings, unlimited holiday and flexible working hours, company day Thrivechella, health cash plan... the list goes on!

Kontras

None, just absolutely nothing I can think of.

Pros

THRIVE is a great place to work. What stands out most are the people. It is very much a team mentality and there are all hands on deck. The amount of creativity and freedom is unlike anything I’ve experienced in my career.

Kontras

Not many! If I had to think of one it’s the time difference but it really is a flexible work schedule so it’s not truly a con.
