Pros

Very hard to chose one, but I’d say the office staff located in head office.

Where do I start? So just to give a little background to this company. Thomson local actually went into administration back in 2013- it was then brought out and re launched. Thinking that this company had learnt from its boiler room sales tactics I decided to join in a hope I would be part of a foward thinking, innovative company. The business is now being run on a day to day basis by someone with a very warped idea of what management, and long term success looks like. There is one philosophy when it comes to management at TL and thats micro management, the company is built on high- volume sales, but without the support. From a business POV The sales model can be very easily manipulated, with sales orders being loaded, only to be cancelled a few weeks later but not effecting the bottom line, and favouritisms being made to certain people. I have no doubt the owner will eventually realasie that he’s being made to look the fool.. If you want to work for a company that supports its employees then DO NOT work here. I took the leap thinking I would be supported in building a career but it’s clear the company want quick success and immediate sales but without the support.

Pros

I joined Thomson Local in November and since joining I have enjoyed every second. From the recruitment process, the training and actually out in the field I have felt supported all of the way. I was brought into the business as a BDM but only in a short space of time I’ve had 2 promotions and I’m now a Team Leader which shows me that you are quickly recognised for what you achieve. I’m looking forward to what the future holds as the company are expanding rapidly and bringing in the best talent possible through the talents of the on boarding team.

As in all sales you are in a target driven environment with KPI’s to hit and achieve. You need to be self motivated and disciplined as you could be working from home on a Monday some weeks and need to motivate yourself to appointment your diary for the week. So if you find this difficult it may not be for you.
