Pros
Some flexibility in hours. but mostly because you are not working many hours.
Kontras
Where to start. Company sets unachievable targets for their employees and stores as a whole. Commission is conditional upon the store as a whole making their targets, so don't expect to make anything more than minimum wage unless you are in one of a few high traffic stores. Company makes no effort to distinguish their good employees from their bad ones. The company does not give raises. I have spoken to multiple workers within the company that have been with the organization for 2+ years and each time they asked for a raise they were given the same excuse: "there is no room in the company for raises at this time". Company enforces dress code selectively across stores which is extremely unfair. Head office "thinks" they know what happens at store level by-way of district manager. But, district managers do not allow that to happen. District managers are rarely in-store. They do not support the manager and show up once every few months and try and dictate to the manager how things should go. Store managers lack resources and upper management support. Lack of effective and strategic HR practices, as I've heard the DM blatantly say they prefer to hire girls ...
