Pros
The department I work with now is friendly and supportive. This is the only reason I've chosen to stay with this company as this was not my experience in the past.
Kontras
Terrible communication between departments, and often within departments. Employees that make continuous mistakes, often the same mistake over and over, remain at their job for many years without being held responsible. Just because someone has worked with the company for a long time doesn't mean they shouldn't be reprimanded, or not held accountable because they refuse to learn new skills. I have literally heard a coworker say "It's stupid that I have to learn this (new task) now. We never had to do this before." This continuing complaining makes for a negative work environment. The Manager of that department had an attitude of "I can't force (employee) do something if they refuse to." Very high turnover. Many have left within three months time, or less, because the environment was toxic or they weren't given the training they needed to be successful. I have worked with several Managers. In the past I was: 1) Not valued or trusted. 2) Micromanaged. 3) Not given positive feedback. 4) Talked badly about to coworkers. 5) Expected to put in extra time for tasks that were not in my job description, but not allowed to work overtime to catch up on my workload. 6) Not given guidance when it was requested. 7) So many procedures, most constantly changing, without proper training. Never once did I say "that's not my job", however I wasn't given the flexibility to advise the person who's task it was so they can complete what's needed. Was told since I took it on I must finish to completion. Since I was never taught processes on how to do the task I was set up for failure. If I pointed this out it was ignored.
