Pros
Seeing some of these negative reviews I had to speak out. Those people are not representative of the staff. For a performing arts company, we have it pretty good. We do A LOT, and yes, sometimes its overwhelming, but I'm good with that because I like the work. My supervisor is awesome. I feel very supported by leadership. I know who wrote those negative reviews below (or above) and let's just say, it's nice to be rid of them. We don't need anymore "victims" blaming their problems on everyone else. Some people lack accountability. Compensation I think the pay is fine, not awesome, but definitely competitive. The benefits are great. Anyone who complains about CEO pay obviously doesn't understand the rare talent it takes to keep a PERFORMING ARTS COMPANY GROWING during a PANDEMIC. I would never think of comparing my pay to someone who has the terrible responsibility for the success or failure of an entire company that lives or dies on donated money. Diversity This company seems pretty diverse to me with all the wonderfully weird and colorful people we got here. Its clear leadership genuinely values diversity but detests virtue signaling. Someone below said there was no diversity in the artistic leadership. I call BS. The CEO is middle eastern, not even from this country, how is that not diverse?! I'm proud to work for an Opera Company that keeps doing great work.
Kontras
It's hard work, so if you don't like that, don't work here!! The CEO is very direct, very serious, and intimidating. If you don't know how to interact with someone like that, you won't be happy. After the pandemic planning is very "shoot from the hip" which adds a bit of chaos to what was already a chaotic business.
