- The People: incredibly passionate, friendly, professional, wonderful people to work with. A team of about 60 pulls off so much. - The culture: it feels a lot like a startup, but with relative security of a large parent company (Oath) and a great brand. There is great camaraderie amongst the team. Quiet office during the workday, talkative, friendly, and inclusive later in the day. - The work: it's satisfying to work on such a great brand/product. While we do have many demands on our time, there is a strong sense of priority that allows us to maintain work/life balance. I'm very satisfied with my manager in this regard, for guarding our time and obligations. - Autonomy/Flatness: the TechCrunch team has relative autonomy to run its own brand, without having to yield too often to the initiatives of its parent company, Oath. This leads to a flat & collaborative structure within TC. - Daily catered lunch by Zesty offers great variety: different restaurants/cuisines daily. - Love the website, news stories, team, events, office, the whole experience.
Kontras
Tough to find serious critiques: - Some disconnect in culture and priorities from our parent company, Oath. TechCrunch is a media brand, and Oath feels more like a tech company. This leads to some conflict in terms of priorities. I would say this is pretty well managed by TC leadership ultimately setting our own agenda.
