Pros
The people you worked with were kind of cool. Everyone seemed to get along.
Kontras
I think it took me about 3 months to learn everything I needed to know about the position. The learning curve was so short and I picked up the job do quickly I soon realized there was no future at this company. Considering this was my first job out of college, I think it reflects poorly on a company that's been in business for some time. After you spend about a day or two reformatting Thomson quarterly reports into the TR format (even though the report is essentially the same), you would spend some time cold calling PMs and analysts to get share holding information. I had to pretend I was going to get them a meeting with our client so they would give me holdings data. If that was unsuccessful, they would then go conduct serious shady practices. They pitch themselves to clients saying they provide more real time updated shareholder data then the quarterly reports but in reality, it's a sham. A lot of the time, they will just pencil in and fake shareholder numbers to make the report more believable to clients. After months of this, I soon realized it was time to go. They made me work late hours for no reason even though there really wasn't much to do. They pay was also a joke. It was very easy for me to get an offer elsewhere. I would jokingly refer to this place as shitter rafferty to my friends time and time again every time this place comes up in conversation.
