Preface: I worked at Target from 2017 to 2021 at two locations: a suburban store and one in Chicago. My experiences varied significantly between these locations. Suburban Location: This was one of the better jobs a teenager could get in the area. The pay was excellent compared to similar retail jobs, and I felt well-treated as long as I showed up and did my job. The staff was friendly and mostly kept to themselves. The schedule was flexible for students and part-time employees, with plenty of opportunities to pick up extra shifts, which was great for those wanting more hours during school breaks.

**Chicago Location**: I worked at the smaller Ashland store in Chicago after transferring from the suburbs for college. The transfer process was smooth, a definite perk of the company. However, the Chicago store had poor management, was constantly understaffed, and mishandled COVID protocols, leading to frequent shopper complaints about safety. Despite three years of service, my request for weekend-only shifts due to school was poorly received, with discussions about letting me go being held publicly. I left after a month due to these issues, which contrasted sharply with my previous positive experience.
