Pros

Steady shifts, usually solo. Most jobs are straightforward, but you’ve got to stay alert - no lounging around scrolling on your phone. The field supervisors check in regularly, don’t just disappear after you’re assigned. Never had a problem getting straight answers when I reach out. That kind of support goes a long way.

Kontras

Expectations could be better communicated to new hires.

Pros

Improved my communication and situational awareness skills after working with different teams and on different assignments. Coworkers happy to answer questions and offer support in difficult situations, which helped a lot during my first months with the company. Emphasis on higher-level training and professional standards beyond minimum state requirements. No complaints about the pay and benefits.

Kontras

Schedules sometimes change at short notice.

Pros

The salary rate seemed reasonable, but only under normal shift conditions and basic duties. Eventually, the constant demands became unbearable. I was pushed into longer shifts, extended hours, and increasing exhaustion with no regard for limits.

Kontras

- After meeting every requirement and every condition agreed upon, management still demanded more and more, pushing constant extra workload without restraint. - I was already working nights, weekends, and holidays, yet additional extended shifts were still expected as if personal limits did not exist. - It became clear that employee limits were completely ignored, with no consideration for fatigue or burnout. - There was no regard for personal life or wellbeing at all, with work expectations continuously overriding everything else. - Every demand had to be accepted without question, yet any request from employees was ignored, rejected, or avoided entirely. - Effort was taken for granted while basic consideration and support were never returned. - It is completely pointless investing time and energy here because nothing is reciprocated and management refuses to approve even reasonable requests.

We do accommodate requests, often and willingly. What we cannot always approve are days off when the maximum number of officers have already requested the same window, those who do not have the time accrued, or requests to change availability that was agreed to at hire. In both cases, saying yes to one person means saying no to the teammates who held up their end. That tradeoff is rarely visible from any single officer's vantage point, but it shapes nearly every scheduling decision we make. We also actively encourage officers to reach out to supervisors, to operations, or directly to executive leadership when something isn't working. We don't have the ability to read minds, and when someone feels unheard but never speaks up, we lose the opportunity to do anything about it. We genuinely wish that conversation had happened. Security work, done right, is not easy. It is hard work, and that's part of what makes it meaningful. The officers who thrive here are the ones who recognize the weight of what they do and take pride in carrying it well. We're grateful to every member of the team who shows up for that mission. We wish you the best moving forward. — TSN Leadership
