Pros
Synopsys is a technology-oriented company that focus more on technology improvement rather than career advancement. There's no surprise that engineers would like to work with such company until certain point (see the downside later). The executive management do a good job to maintain the market share of EDA industry, and have a good vision on the future.
Kontras
The career paths are not clear for most of the people, and getting promotion is often political rather than others. The compensation was low when you comparing to other companies, even after when Synopsys gained the market leadership. Instead of laying-off people they don't like, they put them into a position that most people will leave eventually.
