Where do I even BEGIN? As a long-term employee (13+ years) that recently got let go, I can attest to a bad atmosphere, all around. The recent rule addition to deny carry-over of duly earned merit and service time pay increases from program to program is DISGUSTING, especially when Sutherland is hemorrhaging clients. All employees are walking on eggshells, fearing job loss. Use benefits a lot (such as when a spouse is hospitalized for months on end), or make decent money, and they WILL invent a bogus excuse to let you go, and mark you unrehireable in the HR system. They SUPPOSEDLY promote the notion of promotability, but that is only a pipe dream. Office politics play a MAJOR part of the Sutherland culture, from denying access to the leadership training program, to jealous employees influencing immediate supervisors into who does or doesn't keep their jobs. And this does not even ADDRESS the neglect of the US-based locations from upper management. They invest years and (probably) millions of dollars to get a program up and running profitably, then immediately outsource it to a third-world country (usually either India or the Philippines), thereby paying those new employees literally PENNIES compared to their US-based counterparts, while, at the same time, charging clients the same exact amount .
