Pros

My coworkers were fantastic. We had a great group that collaborated and helped each other out. It is a good place to get solid experience AND then move on. Also, the benefits are excellent. Employees get short term disability, dental insurance, and life insurance premiums paid at 90%.

Please look at the below examples of things I was either asked or told to do and seriously consider if you would want to work at this establishment. As a person employed in the human resource operations these were some things I was told/asked to do: 1. Throw bio-hazard away in a regular dumpster. I did NOT do this because I am a smart person. I was told to do this by one of the human resource managers. I was told we are not a large quantity generator of bio-hazard and that's why it's ok to do. There is no such thing. 2. Lie on an hourly person's time card by inputting a vacation day (that they did not request and was not preapproved) so they would not lose holiday pay. 3. After maternity leave, I was asked to pump in an elevator closet (where the mechanics are housed) because all other private rooms were taken. This was after I had politely/professionally asked to pump in my car. I was asked to do this by one of the human resource managers.This is actually not compliant with state code and we would have incurred a fine per the a state inspector that I spoke with. 4. I witnessed several mold techs with their whole bodies inside presses without them locked out/tagged out. When I brought this up I was told this was okay.

Summit has a well-defined Problem Solving Process that includes escalation of issues to Plant and Corporate Management. To the best of our knowledge, these issues were never escalated. We take these allegations seriously, will fully investigate them and respond appropriately.

Pros

The pay is OK. There are some good people employed here. Decent benefits. 401k. Pto Vacation after 1 yr Yearly raises for the first 5 yrs.

Kontras

Poor management. No work, home balance, they expect you to live at work. The 401k is forced, you can not decline it. Best believe, this company doesn't care about employees. No communication from the top down. Something will change and you won't be notified til you've done it the previous way and get in trouble. Point system is horrendous, it takes 2 months perfect attendance to get 1 point back. Pto is hard to use. Gets denied often. Even with plenty of notice.
