Pros

Great people, relaxed work environment, and a ton of flexibility with what you work on and how you get it done.

Kontras

Not as much structure for on-boarding, but this is getting better!

Pros

-The pay was good for the work required

Kontras

-Poor communication -Disrespectful management in blog department -Intentionally vague contracts -Fails to deliver on promises -Failed to renew contract, but still expected work -Locks you out of site, and deletes your company email, without warning My time spent with Stream.me as an Esports Correspondent, to put it bluntly, felt like a constant uphill battle. It was quickly made apparent that we were an unappreciated part of Stream.me, even before my coworker and I were blindsided with the news that they would be slashing our work output and monthly pay. We were presented with a contract that was as vague as possible, failing to outline any specific duties that were expected of us as blog contributors, then immediately criticized in front of our coworkers for not providing coverage for an event that we attended employees of another company. Unwarranted criticism ran rampant through my first few months, primarily due to the fact that there were no parameters or guidelines set for what kind of content was created, outside of “We just want esports content on the blog", and only seemed to stop when management no longer paid any attention to what was being put on the blog, entirely. Then, without requesting that we focus our efforts on fighting game content, something that we were more than capable of, it was assumed that the better decision would be to merely gut our salary and fail to produce a new contract when the first expired. In our initial talks, it was insisted that our status as independent contractors would only be temporary and, once the first contract was up, we would talk about bringing us on as legitimate employees. This never happened. The lack of communication and understanding between us and the company had been something we attempted to rectify on a number of occasions, but our efforts seem to have been in vain as we had been all but ostracized from the rest of the employees, no longer asked to cover press releases, and had been ignored in the group chats when we asked questions regarding new features on the admin dashboard, or potential content coverage. Failing to deliver on promises, poor communication, and general disrespect have made for an overall unpleasant working experience with Stream.Me. I eventually left on my own free will, only to learn that the coworker I left behind had his company email deleted, and his account blocked from the admin dash, as a form of the company firing him. Without warning, without any sort of parting message.
