Pros
The company has a long history of success and a good reputation in the enterprise performance management consulting marketplace. The office is comfortable, conveniently located, and co-workers are all very nice people. Highly-skilled team of outside consultants working on client projects.
Kontras
The company does not have a clearly communicated vision of the future. The core consulting services around on-premise Oracle and SAP Enterprise Performance Management and Business Intelligence software implementations are being disrupted by SaaS solutions. There's increased competition for the dwindling number of large implementation projects driving the revenue for these projects down. There are no plans to address these apparent threats. Micromanagement from the top with no communication of business values, strategy, and goals. It's a very small team of about 10 people and each person's responsibilities and tasks are silo-ed from the rest of the group. People who have been there for a while have given up trying to bring their own thoughts, expertise, and ideas to their job and resign themselves to working from task lists handed down directly from the business owner. Compensation plans for sales professionals are designed to attract top performers with promises of high earnings but in reality the commission structure isn't in line with compensation targets. The commission percentages are far too low, the company does not pay commissions up-front on long-term contracts, the sales cycle is very long, and the deal close rate is low. All of this makes high-end commission targets out of reach.
