Pros

Reasonably competitive pay; good benefits; casual work environment; good colleagues. SCC is a large company so there are many types and levels of jobs available for many different skillsets. The engineering department is held in high regard and is probably a very good place to work.

Kontras

Management is heavily top down, unstable and, unfortunately paranoid. Employees are told how to "handle" upper management by middle management to stay out of trouble. People are fired arbitrarily and given no chance to discuss or contest the firing (even employees who have been awarded, recognized and promoted); this creates tremendous fear for one's job. Management is disorganized and often holds up progress of projects waiting for simple approvals. Atmosphere is oppressive and fearful, leading to a lack of willingness to submit ideas, a lack of creativity and an unwillingness to attempt to improve process or product. If you think you can beat the system there, you are sadly mistaken.

Pros

None-you realize within a short time that you made a bad decision.

Kontras

Lack of Work-Life Balance: The company culture does not support a healthy balance between professional responsibilities and personal life, leading to burnout and dissatisfaction among employees. Poor Accountability: Management consistently fails to hold underperforming employees accountable, which places an unfair burden on high-performing team members. No Investment in Employee Development: There is little to no emphasis on career growth, skill development, or training opportunities, leaving employees stagnant in their roles. Compliance Issues: The company knowingly violates state and federal regulations, operating under the assumption that avoiding detection is an acceptable risk. This creates significant ethical and legal concerns. Unequal Workload Distribution: High-performing employees are often expected to compensate for the lack of effort or competence in others, which leads to resentment and decreased morale. Unqualified Decision-Makers: Critical decisions are frequently made by individuals who lack the necessary experience or qualifications, leading to inefficient processes and poor strategic outcomes.
