Pros
Great co-workers Helping organize the store
Kontras
I worked at staples for a little over a year, and met some great people whom I am still friends with today. I encourage people to look elsewhere if they really need a retail job, and here's why: MINIMUM WAGE for all that you are being asked to do Understaffed, everyone is leaving because they're being exploited and those who are still there simply haven't found another job. Nobody wants to stay. Stretched too thin, all over (I'm supposed to be working truck, then expected to cashier a busy line and pull a chair out while helping a customer within the next 2 seconds) Rude customers Incompetent, condescending managers (with the exception of 2 I regularly interacted with from the store I worked at. I've heard horror story after horror story about the CPC manager though. Also the micromanagement.) Same playlist, no say in what gets played (drived me nuts) Requesting a day or two off resulted in your hours being cut for a while, but lately they've just been cutting EVERYONE's hours. There's so much that made my mental health worse while I was working there I can't think of absolutely everything, but I hated seeing how my co-workers were treated. They definitely had it worse than me, considering they were there longer. Copy and print was especially stretched thin and understaffed. People were leaving left and right, 3 CPC employees left the first week I was there.
