Pros
The pay was good. Not great, but well above the minimum I would have accepted. Certain projects have enormous budgets so getting the tools you need is no problem. Other projects not so much.
Kontras
Everything that could go wrong in a stereotypical corporate environment goes wrong at Charter. Being coerced into working nights and weekends, unrealistic performance expectations, and an overabundance of both micro managers and neglectful managers. The worst of it though was the politics, every little thing devolves into an inter-team tug of war and everyone's work suffers because of it. Certain people had gentle egos we'd have to tiptoe around, others got kicked around by everyone, some people could take time off "off the books," while others had to adhere to HR's policies. I'd never worked in such a chaotic environment, or felt more unwelcome in a new position.
