Pros

Good mix of people more representative of society.

Kontras

Office culture is pretty uptight as in pretty militant business casual, an absolute 8-5 schedule with an hour for lunch and they actually throw people out of the office not long after 5 if anyone is still there. Frankly it’s very odd. Managers in my area were so uptight and micromanaging one manager told an employee his shoes weren’t good enough because they had a stripe on them and they were fairly pricey Top Siders not some worn out sneaks. Another employee had a small box in the cabinet above his cube with some snacks in it but the box was for some random alcoholic beverage and a manager actually had that box removed because why? Who would actually see it or be offended? I am still not sure who my actual supervisor was because they were hiring so many people and it was only semi-organized. More specifically about the CAD Designer jobs... Spectrum/Charter is hiring a whole bunch of people for this job title basically sight unseen and based on 15-20 minute phone interviews without much detail on the job so let me help. There are also a bunch of staffing companies looking for people for "GIS Network Designer" or "CAD Designer" jobs at Spectrum but don't be fooled because there is no GIS involved. The job is hardcore Microstation and RF design so if you don't have at least a little background in CAD or RF you're already behind the curve and it's a mighty steep curve. If you’re lucky you’ll get a few weeks in the office before you get thrown into 2 weeks of heavy duty training classes for Microstaion ED-COMM but if you’re not lucky and have only been in the office for a short time before the classes your tenure at Spectrum may also be really short. What they don't tell you is your job is contingent on passing a test after being thrown into to the 2 weeks of training which is why you need to have at least some background in ustation or RF design otherwise you won't make it. Do yourself a favor and don’t go for the money if you talk with a recruiter about this job. If you don’t have some background in CAD or RF you should keep looking and spare yourself the hassle of being micromanaged and have your time wasted like I did.

Pros

I've worked as an RCS in the Daytona Beach market and my experience has been very positive. Like any outside sales position, success comes down to attitude, consistency, and following a proven system. The reps who struggle are often looking for shortcuts, while the reps who put in the time, learn the process, and stay coachable tend to do very well. Pros: Strong earning potential with uncapped commissions Flexible schedule and independence in the field Supportive teammates and leadership Excellent products that solve real customer needs. More than most of the competition. Opportunities to grow and increase income over time The biggest advantage is that you control your own results. If you're willing to work consistently, learn from successful reps, and stick to a proven approach, this can be a very rewarding career. This is not a sit-at-a-desk job. You'll be walking neighborhoods, talking to people, handling objections, and hearing "no" along the way. That's part of sales. If you enjoy meeting people, helping customers, and taking ownership of your success, the role offers significant upside.

Kontras

The role requires patience, consistency, and resilience. Many of the customers we speak with are former subscribers who may have left due to a past service issue, billing concern, or negative experience. Reps often have to overcome skepticism and rebuild trust before even discussing current products and promotions. There is definitely a learning curve, and success doesn't happen overnight. It takes time to learn the territory, understand customer concerns, and develop the communication skills needed to turn difficult conversations into opportunities. Reps who remain coachable, follow a proven system, and stay consistent with their activity tend to perform much better over time.
