If you are new or desperate, do what I did. Get in, Get experience, Get knowledge, Get out. They don't promote from within. Instead hiring managers bring in former associates, friends and family members. This is probably why almost everyone in management up to the VP is Indian. You would think from their quarterly town halls that the company is perormaning great. My last salary increase was 3% in a market economy with an inflation rate of 9% to 11%. If I stayed I would have needed to take a second job just to survive. The max PTO for vacations and sickness is 3 weeks even if you've been there 10 years. If me or anyone in my family got sick, I had to work to make up sick time to save PTO, and then I got sick.
