Pros
Honestly, the people are what convinced me to work here. I've worked in marketing for a while, but I didn't know the first thing about ecommerce or inventory management software...so taking a gig marketing for an ecommerce software company was something about which I was a little wary.
The more time I spent in the office, though, the more quickly I was convinced. My first month was supposed to be part-time while I phased out my freelancing work, but I went full-time after a week. The company culture is relaxed and friendly, but the office is still fast-paced and fun. There are also a lot of great restaurants around, Venice is just a couple of miles away...the atmosphere around the office is really nice.
Oh, and we've got a ping-pong table. Everybody that works here is friends. We get free lunch (Thai or Indian) every Friday, we have a little latte robot, and once a month we get to take a half day and hit the beach as a group.
The people here are intelligent, driven, and friendly. It's really a rad place to work.
Kontras
The office is pretty fast-paced, which can be problematic for some people. Self-direction is valued, and that can definitely be tough for some workers. There's really not a lot of micromanagement. For a lot of workers, that's a great thing, but for those that require constant direction, that can be tough. Otherwise, the biggest con is the fact that Washington and Lincoln is ALWAYS a traffic nightmare.
