Snowed In is one of the most inclusive, supportive, and innovative employers in the video game industry. They care about their employees. They implement a 'no-crunch' motto and encourage a healthy work-life balance. They are vocal about mental health awareness and creating a safe place to work for all. And they are always looking at ways to improve. They take employee feedback very seriously and find ways to incorporate it into every decision they make (from the office layout to the programs/tools we use). In an industry plagued with grueling work hours, worker burnout, and toxic work environments, Snowed In is breath of fresh (and cold) air. If you are interested in making video games and getting into the industry, look no further!

Right now the company is growing, which comes with a few hiccups here and some growing pains there. Not a con, but it is something that does impose new obstacles for the company to overcome (which they are doing great at so far)!

If you're looking for no crunch (NONE), decent insurance, genuinely great coworkers and a studio that cares about their employees mental health, you will find none better than Snowed In. Unlimited sick days and good amounts of Paid Time Off are fantastic.

Canadian game dev salaries are already lower than American ones, but even as far as Canadian game dev salaries go, the ones offered by Snowed In Studios are insulting. Management has little interest in seeing you improve and are fully content to let you languish, even if you are constantly trying.
