Pros
I’d say my favorite thing about working here is the people. I think there is a great sense of community. I came from a job where I worked on a small team, but there always seemed to be a sense of drama. Here is the opposite! It’s a small company, but everyone is welcoming and seems to mesh well. It’s an open office (and there’s free food in the kitchen) so you get to know people pretty well from all the different teams. Someone is always there with an answer to your question! I specifically work on the video team, which has allowed me to branch out creatively and learn a significant amount about different areas in the field. That’s one of the great things – if you want to learn a new skill or inquire about something, the team leader encourages it, making you more well-rounded. He is also understanding when it comes to different needs for different employees, since working styles vary. This is a very innovative bunch and it’s also exciting to see the content we produce. I was honestly surprised at the caliber of work when I first joined the team. Everything is something I’m proud to have my name be a part of! Also, we have monthly themed parties and free lunch on Fridays. I came from a heavily corporate job prior, so little things like this make me extremely thankful!
Kontras
At first, I found clocking my time per project to be a little stressful, simply because I had never done it before. I can attest that it does become more natural with time and I’ve gotten used to it. Also, the month of January is a bit time consuming and requires a lot of dedication, but it’s worth it in the end!
