There have been several waves of mass firings. Opinions of technical staff is often ignored in favor of salesmen. CEO has attitude that "employees aren't paid to learn", resulting in a company that stays behind the technological curve until some infusion of cash stop-gaps a solution (which tends to be a poor fit) into place to hobble forward.
