The Simons Foundation has a good reputation in the sector, and a lot of very talented people work there. Health insurance is excellent.

In 2025 management implemented a rigid in-office policy whereby employees forfeit their one work from home day per week if they have taken a sick day or if the foundation has had a holiday earlier in the week. Leadership has underestimated the amount of widespread anger this has caused, and the difficulties this creates for working families. Administrative departments are overworked and complain about lack of work-life balance.
