Small team allowing for a good exposure.

Not much opportunity to progress. Can be daunting having all managers around with conflicting agendas.

Relatively easy to get aAn internship position, as long as you are from a competitive university. There are three sections the materials, instrumentations, and robotics. For the interview they try to figure out your interests to decide what projects to give you , than a few thermo qs. If you know your basic T-s diagram you’ll be fine ( this coming from someone that took a electrical role). But as long as you tell them you haven’t covered a topic, I don’t think they’ll mind. The actual internship is literally whatever you make it to be. You won’t get mu ch help and guidance in the projects per se, as the program is not officially structured, but you’ll have a lab full of materials and bits an bobs ( explore it before diving into the project) and helpful colleagues that will give their opinion if you ask them. Get ready to spend hours trying to figure something out etc. Everyone in the office is very lovely , helpful and just good vibes. I wish I made a list of what I wanted to get out of the internship a few weeks in, and used company resources to make it happen ( they encourage you to do that if it’s relevant to the project). Also, nobody cares how quick your progress is, so take your time on things.

Open space office, no privacy. Unpaid. Some think that the location Dagenham is not nice, but the industrial area is new anyway.
