Kontras
High turnover across departments has been a recurring issue for years. Leadership operates in a top-down way and is not very receptive to differing viewpoints, which limits innovation. Talented professionals often leave within months after realizing it’s difficult to have meaningful influence on decisions. The product organization lacks experience; senior PMs rarely stay long, resulting in reshuffling and promotions before people are fully ready. UX functions mostly as a delivery engine. There is currently no dedicated user research capability, as earlier attempts to build one were not sustained. A recent change in UX leadership raised concerns within the team about experience and direction. This transition was followed by significant attrition in the UX group, further weakening an already fragile discipline. The culture has noticeably shifted after a (not so) recent acquisition. Processes and priorities from the acquired company increasingly dominate. Engineering is competent, but without strong product direction or validation, shipped features often struggle to achieve.
