Hire a new employee and pay them more than an incumbent. meanwhile the incumbent gets to do their work in addition to training the newbie. Meanwhile the newbie sleeps during zoom meetings and in their cubicle, audibly snoring. It would be one thing if the newbie were high performing but nah. $5k/yr difference in pay advantage to the office snoozer too.
