This is small startup. I was hired on the position of Tech Lead, the technical team is managed by a single engineering manager and he is only one point of communication between the company founders and the engineers.

My suggestions on how to improve the development process and standards were regularly ignored by him. To my arguments why some of the approaches taken by the team were ineffective and suggestions how to improve it, the response was “this was before you, you should follow", “we will not change anything, in the future we’ll just redo everything from scratch”. My personal questions about the my future in the company as well was postponed and then ignored One day I received email which was sent to the to the founders of the company with negative feedback about my work. The content of this feedback did not correspond to reality. To my questions about why he was doing this, he answered that I misunderstood this email, and this is just formality, everything is fine and he had no complaints about my work. A month later, one day I was unable to log into my work account, without any notifications. A day later I received a letter sent to the company’s funders saying that I was fired because of the severe security incident - I merged a pull request without approval and broke the tests, which is complete nonsense since it is impossible to do due to the settings of Gitlab pipelines. In addition to this, the letter stated that I am as a tech lead did not meet the company's standards I am the third tech lead who was fired in this company

people are nice and friendly always ready to support. fully remote. no strict working hours but fixed meetings everyday (standups). good salary. help to improve from more experienced tech lead and cto. flexible team with no hierarchy.

we had to report how much we worked on a task in jira. that’s all I can see as a con, but even that is kinda make sense to me. the goal wasn’t to track us but to improve our expectations and estimations
