Pros
Great co-workers who are highly skilled and understand the challenges of the consulting world. When projects are available they are interesting and for the most part clients have realistic expectations.
Kontras
Management is a mess! All resources are thrown at large projects and anyone else is left sitting in a black hole of communication. If you are looking for Elbow to Elbow go live support work or analyst (build work) this company may be a good fit. If you want to provide actual quality improvement, have a means of communicating areas of risk to clients, etc... look elsewhere. Don't count on communication initiated by anybody but you. OR in writing. That is a big weakness with Human Resources especially. When communication is initiated, it is usually by someone with no authority to answer questions or make decisions and it will take days for anyone to get back to you. When on the phone, record your conversations with managers, HR, etc... because again, very little will be provided in writing even when specifically requested. Also, if you accept a position, make sure you get understand that even though this is a firm wanting to be considered a near "top-tier" firm, they don't have written policies to protect employees in many areas that will directly impact your livelihood- i.e. bench time, severance, organizational charts (current ones). It may even be difficult to keep track of who you directly report to because it changes so frequently. They may be ok for a 1099 employee but from my experience around the communication structure I highly recommend that you do your due diligence.
