The retouching team is incredibly competent, and feels like a family. The other departments have also been a pleasure to work with. Free coffee

Ever since the merger, things have gone steadily downhill for the company. Our department has continuously lost key members and management has made no effort to replace them adding more and more strain to a already stretched thin team. Upper management can’t seem to find a pulse on the studio or they simply don’t want to. Upper management has been promising the same things (merit increases, more creative work, new hires, and many other thing) for several years now, it’s become evidently clear that they have no interest in delivering on their word and are just interested in the bottom line. As a result morale in the studio is at a all time low and has been continuously plummeting each passing month. The same trends can be seen across the entire studio.

Thank you for your feedback and comments. As with many reviews, it is important that future readers fully understand the context of what is written. We suspect that this review was written wholly or in part, due to a recent small right sizing we unfortunately had to do in the post production team in Portland. As a company, we are sometimes forced to adjust as our clients terms/conditions and expectations evolve. As with any business, there are times when we're asked to do more with less. While we never want these circumstances to occur, it's an unfortunate fact of business at times. With that, we can only endeavor to do the best we can for those impacted by changes; however, it is not indicative of "doom and gloom" by any means. We do, in fact, replace positions when and where necessary and as deemed appropriate. As a business, no one can make promises about anything - hiring, increases, type of work, etc. As a company we have significantly elevated the creativity of the work we do for our clients across the globe. This is because of the incredibly talented people who work on our teams. These are people we care about and who we take care of. Merit increases are provided. If you were not a recipient for any reason, that is a question that can and should be addressed with your management directly. Our company has grown by multiples over the past 4 years with regards to clients, geography and client output. If there are specific questions you have about the company that you feel are not being communicated, presuming you are a current employee, you should feel empowered to ask any level of management up to the CEO if you wish. Great place to network if you see yourself going freelance, but need a place to start your career.

Not a place you want to be at for more than a year because there is zero potential for growth. They were bought by Creative Drive which is has a hyper corporate mentality and only see money from their employees and money from their clients. If it isn't about their self interest and profit they don't care. There used to be snack time, team outings, company retreats and holiday parties, managers that were motivational and that was all cut. The whole part of working at a studio is for a fun and creative environment that has caring manager. The good ones have left and all that's left are type-a personalities that are being sucked dry of anything good. The clients are even moving away because the producers can't provide the small family style perks that once were: wine, treats, FRIENDLINESS. It's all just about profit now. It's become a soul sucking factory. And all the assistant and junior staff are completely not paid competitively. No raises for three plus year. Really not worth the ride.

Thank you for sharing your feedback and comments. We're sad to hear that you're not having the experience you would like to have. We do care about our associates, and there is no reason you shouldn't still be doing the fun things that are part of working in the fun, creative environment. Most of our studios embrace the fun along with the work. They held fun holiday parties/outings and have other fun activities throughout the year. We make all of the resources to have the fun activities available, so if you're not seeing those types of activities, let your manager know you want them. We are very proud of the talent that works here and celebrate everyone's hard work and creative eye. If you have concerns about your compensation, we encourage you to speak with your manager directly. Thank you for your continued hard work and all you do to keep the company moving forward.
