Pros

Offers a lot of overtime. Nice people who work there (NOT the execs, except for a couple, but you wouldn't know they're execs)

Kontras

Really terrible work environment, from the smells of commerce city (wastewater treatment plant smells like poo, dogfoods factorys), people so quick to throw others under bus to avoid getting into trouble, not much room for future, super corporate

Pros

Great long-term employees. Managers are great and there is a very good work-to-life balance. Casual attire, company lunches and breakfasts are common. Open door policy and department communicate well with each other

Kontras

Currently, there are lay-offs going on company wide. Uncertainty about the future of the company which is very sad for all employees. The new location in Dallas offers a challenging commute for employees.

Pros

Decent people for most part.

Kontras

Company was restructured multiple times trying to find some magic solution to get more customers or be more competitive. Left employees scrambling trying to follow new edicts all the time, or shuffling under a new boss every year. Lots of in-house software. IT dept spent all their time polishing the band-aided billing system that nothing else got worked on. Billing customers is important, but billing system doesn't mean anything when you're losing customers constantly. Sales dept paid bare-minimum, but expected top-tier performance. Basically put the cart before the horse, IE: neglected marketing and sales while spending all their time polishing internal systems. Company was bought out to be part of an investment portfolio, and that's when the screws were really tightened. Lots of staff cuts. Lots of job merges. Nobody got raises for doing such (at least nobody on the bottom of the pyramid). You were just expected to do the job of multiple people while getting paid the same. People were jumping ship right and left, and company was bleeding customers like crazy, b/c couldn't keep up with other companies offering better deals. The entire business model boiled down to just re-hashing the same sales plans every few months in order to shut off the old plans and raise rates on customers. Basically, hoping customers would be ignorant of their phone bills and just keep hanging on while rates were constantly increased. It was a race to the bottom. Not sure what happened to them after I left, but by the time I decided to leave it was already a skeleton crew of folks left behind, and those were only there b/c they didn't have any other job prospects. It was sad working at this place and putting in your hard work and effort just to see it squandered into a "blood from turnips" investment by some portfolio company and ran into the ground.
