Pros
It's a union job; benefits and pay are really quite solid compared to competitors. I was able to basically do whatever I wanted without repercussion, but coworkers didn't necessarily get the same treatment.
Kontras
Management culture is toxic and goes all the way up. Some companies mistreat their employees to make the customers happy; Safeway mistreats its employees for no reason. Permanent, deliberate, extreme understaffing makes normal business operation impossible.
