Pros
Great people to work with in the field - not your standard desk job. You will be traveling to rig sites, sleeping in your pickup truck, and dealing with all sort of characters. Your crew eventually starts becoming your family. If you're all about being PC and having an 8-5 job, this job is not for you. It's all about the work hard, play hard mentality. Training is also top-notch and you have opportunities to travel overseas. The structure for a field engineer is great since you're constantly striving to the next grade/level. The pay is great as soon as you're bonus eligible, but the work can be draining and you start caring more about having time off than getting paid a bonus.
Kontras
Your experience at slb is wholly dependent on your location, segment, and management. They all differ in schedule and bonus compensation. For busy districts, expect to work long hours and holidays and deal with more BS than required. Your satisfaction with the company will rely primarily on how much you like how your management operates.
