Pros

between projects, Savis does not get rid of you. They keep you around for the next project. Some companies only keep you during the project as a contractor and when the project is over they lay you off. I like their loyalty. If a company is loyal to me, I can be loyal to them. The upper management and people I work with are awesome to get along with. Everyone takes their job seriously and professionally. We go wherever we are needed for a project. We are not confined to one location which makes it interesting. Before I was hired, I was asked if I was willing to relocate or travel for projects. It was not hidden from me but was discussed up front. I appreciate a company like that. I appreciate the company giving me an opportunity to be trained as a Project Consultant/Engineer even though I was limited in experience. Overall I am satisfied with Savis.

Some engineers aren't compatible with the consultant lifestyle, Paid time off policy could be more flexible for more senior employees

Pros

The small company is a good way to get into the industry by meeting clients and doing good work. There is travel involved, and some amenities are covered if you have to travel. This is a better company for a young person with a strong personality.

Kontras

The company is disorganized, and there are sudden shifts in travel sometimes with a day of notice; sometimes you travel with the company saying that you are returning to a site in a couple of weeks to not return for years. The company keeps things opaque and sends mixed messages. The company is very controlling in your personal life and have a strong culture of working 24/7 for client or company needs; had to share rooms and cars with other employees. There were confusing tax forms, and pay was monthly with a paper check. Some situations and arrangements within the company are uneasy. Termination has happened suddenly to some employees. Other employees have quit suddenly sometimes within a month.
