Pros

The only good thing Rutgers has going for it is there is a great work/life balance.

Kontras

The senior leadership team at Rutgers-Camden is seriously lacking in management/leadership skills from the Chancellor on down. Nobody is held accountable for actions that they take and they are only out for themselves. Unfair treatment of employees runs rampant through the campus. Certain departments are favored over others and are given preferential treatment towards salary increases and promotions while other hardworking individuals and departments are tossed to the side. Someone should do an investigation into their practices for providing increases and disparate treatment. The senior leadership all received over $200K in salary increases while others are denied or treated improperly. In addition, bullying from a senior manager happens on a daily basis. And this individual is married to a senior leadership employee so employees are afraid to speak up for fear of retaliation.

Pros

co-workers are super nice, friendly and collaborative. Good flexibility in work arrangements. My immediate boss is nice.

Kontras

Morale is quite low, and turnover is high. We are losing good people and goals are not being met. Senior Leader tell us to do more with less, and do not want constructive feedback. They don't lead by example, taking elaborate trips instead of being present and supporting staff. Rules don't apply to them. So disappointing, not what you would expect from a public university.
