Pros

There are some decent coworkers. I suppose having every other Friday off is alright, but not worth it in the grand scheme of things.

Kontras

This company feels like a poorly managed cult. About 60 days into the misfortune of coming here, you will have to recite their mission, vision, values. Verbatim, word for word. There is no talk of expanding your career. Just get in and talk to them about... them. Hmm, seems a little odd, but I’ll play along. Drink that kool-aid. Additionally, one of their statements is “making life better for people we serve”; cool. However, they have no interest in making life better for their employers. For example, if you get ill, I’m talking doctors note and a day in hospital, you’ll have to go unpaid, because oh well.. you don’t have any PTO or sick days until 90 days in. Great job, Roth. Really making life better for your people. Oh, and you can NEVER work from home.. so if you’re sick and don’t want to get too far behind in your work, you’ll be working for free because they can’t physically see you- huge micromanaging culture. Their benefits are abhorrent and essentially non existent. They have the 9/80 schedule, but I can say that it’s very weird to see people just sitting around watching the clock from 5-6pm to get out of the office. If you’re done with your work, why not have the ability to simply leave? Once again. Micromanaging and a borderline cult feeling. One final thing, they place accounting and finance, however these buffoons hardly know anything about the industry; they simply fling resumes around and hope something sticks. No boutique tailored feel here. They didn’t want to be the biggest but the best. Well, that’s a cute idea, but when you have former retail workers talking to CPA’s with no idea of what they’re talking about, you look beyond inept. Pass on this company if you want a real career and not have to struggle because their margins are so small and pathetic. Your commission checks will look like a joke. My life is so much better- not.. but It will be when I leave.

We absolutely agree that sick time should be taken when needed even if that's , unfortunately, right off the bat in your new role. Coworkers have always begun accruing sick leave the very first day they start at Roth Staffing. We did notice that the official Coworker Handbook says that sick time has to be accrued and not used until after 90 days, and as soon as a new coworker raised this question with our HR department a couple months ago, we immediately revised our handbook so that coworkers can use sick time as soon as they have any hours accrued. No one wants to get sick within their first week of a new job, but we certainly understand it can happen and would always be willing to work out a unique scenario with a new coworker if in a bind. If the mission, vision, values feel like drinking kool-aid, then it just might not be the right work culture fit for you and it sounds like you've determined that. That's on us. We have several hiring processes in place where we do our best to assess for a great fit between who the company is and who the candidate is before we make the decision to extend an offer of employment. Working at Roth Staffing or any of our business lines should feel like home - you should feel like the core philosophies of the company resonate with you and bring out the best in you. If it instead feels like a forced fit or a cult, then you don't want that, and we don't want that. Finding the right fit is always tough, but so worth the effort. We definitely don't like to hear that you never got the chance to discuss your professional growth opportunities because there is a lot to offer at Roth in terms of career growth and is a big topic of conversation during the first weeks of our coworkers' learning path.

Pros

There is a great culture and the team is always willing to work with one another. People are kind, hard working, easy to get along with.

Kontras

Feeling stagnant even after voicing the desire to the next step. There’s no bonuses for experience coordinators, and no yearly increase.
