Pros
The employees are all genuinely hard working good folks. The knowledge you acquire serves you well at other warehouse type jobs and is a good place to start. The tea is very high quality and employees get to take a lot of it home for free. Seriously, I have enough tea to last years.
Kontras
Pay is very low compared to other warehouse jobs, and training is sparse. Important details such as recording lot codes and navigating the buggy system were left out of what I can barely call training. Management doesn't like to give raises, and although some people managed to get hired and promoted within the company from being a temp, most workers are temp agency employees and have been for years. Benefits are scant, with almost 9 months of required work, plus other stipulations, to qualify for holiday pay alone. Work hours can be long and repetitive with a lot of lifting. Due to the crappy nature of the job, the temp agency is constantly cycling in new employees. I also had ethical concerns with how the agency pays and treats its largely non English speaking production staff.
