Pros
- Well known company so it is recognizable on a resume when you recruit out
Kontras
- Huge gaps in professional development. It is not encouraged or promoted and only 2K a year is offered for courses. Absolutely zero guidance or support from managers on furthering education - Regressive and outdated culture. Classic "boys club" in upper management and anti WFH culture. It is discouraged solely because the company owns/ rents office buildings despite the vast majority of employees not wanting to return to the office. - Remote work is NOT acceptable and looked down upon, Riocan is not innovative and the turnover rate displays this. Jobs stay posted on LinkedIn for months because candidates have options and will go to workplaces that are flexible and value their employees - Dealt with a highly problematic manager while working at this place, everyone knows this manager is a problem but nothing gets done about it. Micro management that bordered on harassment was my life for years at this company. - Lack of training and the culture is essentially "every person for themselves". No one wants to sign off on documents or take accountability for anything. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
