Consultants can be understanding of your circumstances and will try to accommodate your time off requests but ultimately the attitude towards all the negatives is to deal with it. Working with other TAs that are in this struggle together.

You get called up at 7am in the morning by that time you have to be awake and ready regardless if you have a shift today or not so that you can rush to make it to the school in time. Very poor pay, not a stable source of income and even though you work freelance/for an agency, time off is frowned upon by schools which may result in your booking cancellation. Schools want flexibility but won’t provide the same courtesy to you.
