- Milwaukee office located in thriving downtown Schlitz Park (Amenities include: FREE parking, modern office space, nearby restaurants/shops, Aurora Health Clinic). - Many of the Milwaukee employees are kind and helpful. - Company offers jobs in publishing - which are few and far between in the Milwaukee market. - Taste of Home test kitchen puts out free food for employees to taste, FREE magazines are available to all. - Milwaukee magazines produce wonderful, beloved content - celebrated by millions of subscribers each year. Readers are engaged and truly love these brands - making them a fun product to work on.

- Cronyism, favoritism, elitism, condescension and egos drive decisions for many of the New York leadership. New York leadership makes decisions on staff and strategy seemingly without thinking through their plan or how it will be supported. Most recent layoffs left remaining team scrambling - as key positions (and the institutional knowledge held by the people in those positions) were eliminated. Meetings with these leaders are an exercise in true restraint, as they can be often seen belittling Milwaukee teams by talking over them, responding with condescension, ignoring suggestions and making decisions that impact employee careers without taking the time to think through individual strengths or career goals. - Leadership is cut throat and morale is at an all time low. As trouble brews in New York, it all rolls downhill; and from the top down, Milwaukee is devolving into a dog-eat-dog environment as well. As employees live in fear of losing their jobs, even longstanding Milwaukee leaders (once beloved and trusted) are now seen as professional CYA-ers. - This is not a stable work environment. Emerging from 2-3 bankruptcies over the past ten years, good luck getting a raise, positive reinforcement, professional development opportunities or any chance for long-term stability. As many employees have come to recognize - "this is not a company many of us will retire from."
