Pros

Legacy brand, sporting goods/sports industry, free samples from time to time (usually in a "feast or famine" dispersal method), great teammates.

Kontras

This company could/should be so much more. To start, the EVP of HR recruits/hires on budget #'s rather than talent ("you work in sporting goods" is the rationale to explain below market compensation - her line), & does not allow employees to feel safe in sharing sensitive matters without retaliation...lack of diversity is startling..."boys club" remains in charge of key decision-making...outdated systems & processes leave the company at risk for being passed in the market, except no other competitor seems to be able to take the lead; instead, the amount of M&A's in this industry leaves more top-heavy bloat with recycled executives calling the "plays". The aforementioned below market pay "rounds third" as you are "sliding into home" of no advancement, no career development, nor real opportunities for growth unless you "play ball", politically-speaking.

Pros

-Pretty decent pay but that's only because I was bonus eligible -Hybrid Work Schedule (Tuesday-Thursday in office; Monday & Friday remote) -Laid back work attire (can wear hats and jeans every day if you want to) -Corporate sample sales for heavy discount gloves and bats

Kontras

-Lots of rats/snakes work here; be careful who you talk to. Because of the lack of communication and lack of growth, employees tend to "rat" on each other all the time to gain an advantage on each other. -Zero to little growth - people may work here for 8-10 years before being promoted (a 20 year company veteran who had their MBA for the past couple years was finally promoted to Manager at year 19?!?) -Promotions are only celebrated and communicated in certain departments. The rest of the time, you only know someone is promoted when you see it on Teams. And when you tell them "Congratulations!", they ssshh you in fear of retaliation because "no one is supposed to know"....this is absolutely pathetic -Transparency (zero to little communication on company direction, goals, or initiatives). Poor communication within departments and even worse between different departments -Poor ethics, empathy, and leadership -Extremely Poor HR Management - Leaders will lie on employee performance reviews with no concern from HR to correct or hear both sides of the story (regardless of actual evidence). Because there is no true "justice" at Rawlings for the employee's facts and narrative to be heard, A LOT of good people are pushed out because of toxic, egotistical, narcistic, and unethical leaders they hired years ago and won't get rid of.
