Pros
Work from home low micro managment.
Kontras
After four years in this role, I’ve decided to retire — not because I couldn’t handle the work, but because the environment became too toxic to justify staying. The job was mentally and emotionally exhausting, and it ultimately pushed me to focus on my investing instead.
Management operates through fear, guilt, and constant pressure. You’re made to feel your job is on the line every month, no matter how hard you work. Quotas are set unrealistically high — only one person all year has hit them, and it’s clear that person is being given favorable treatment.
There’s no quota relief for vacation time, no residuals, and every deal is filtered by AI so there are no unexpected wins (“bluebirds”). You’re judged on weekly performance even though goals are quarterly, which ensures that one bad month can ruin your entire quarter.
Meanwhile, management sets double standards — some can leave early while the rest are lectured about “finishing strong.”
After enduring this for years, I’m genuinely relieved to be walking away. I’m grateful for the experience, but even more grateful to be done.
